This quote is from George Raymond Richard “R.R.” Martin. He started writing as a child and sold his monster stories and dramatic readings to other children in then the neighborhood. Later, has a comic book fan, he started writing fiction for amateur comic book fan magazines. He made his first professional sale in 1970 at the age of 21. He became a full-time writer in 1979.
He currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is a member of Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America, and also Writers’ Gild of America, West.
Maybe you did not start writing at an early age, but remember Grandma Moses did not start painting until she was 80! Some people just bloom later than others.
